Fearful
I speak to a lot of UK business owners each week, and right now I’d use one word to describe the general mood:
Fearful.
The looming, impending possibility of a no-deal Brexit (sorry for mentioning the B word) has got the media into something of a frenzy, and questions are being raised about the impact it could have on UK businesses.
The financial world will not be immune to these questions, and I’m not going to downplay the fears or concerns, nor will I proffer an opinion – politics is a subject I’m very happy to avoid in these emails!
But what I will maintain is this: you can only control what you can control.
Can you improve your brand and marketing, driving more people towards your business?
Yes.
Are they still plenty of people looking for financial services?
Yes.
Maybe there are less people ‘in the market’ than usual, but that just means you have to be better, more agile and more active.
All things that you can do.
And – in truth – it might be that your competitors are sitting on their hands right now, worried about the future, which gives you a unique opportunity to get in there and acquire customers that would have been harder to come by with more competition.
I don’t say any of this to suggest that there isn’t valid reason for concern, but to present you with a choice – you can worry and sit on your hands, or you can take control of what’s controllable.
And if you want some support to do just that, get in touch and we’ll chat through our ‘Private Clients’ offering that’ll help you make it happen.
